The young full-back Another assured performance from the rising star after his debut versus another side. Saka was unable to take full advantage of an exquisite backheel behind the Albania defence. His position looks secure at this stage. 7

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit loose in possession however his dangerous deliveries posed a danger. A handy tempo-setter for the boss to have against sides that sit back. Cautioned for a poorly timed tackle. 6

Declan Rice Set-pieces from dead balls and free kicks were dangerous. Enjoyed freedom to roam down the left flank yet found himself in an offside position as the pass came in front of goal. Given a merited break after an hour. 6

Jude Bellingham Operated in a high position on the right and put in the hard yards. Demonstrated moments of class but mishit an effort over. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, his competition, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had England’s best chance of the first half, his strike smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate hanging back, it fell to him to provide width on the right yet his deliveries from the touchline varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker scoring two more finishes in an England shirt. The first a typical opportunist's goal while the second a superb headed goal having drifted away off his defender. At 32, his form is unwavering and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him leading the line. Eight

Eberechi Eze Struggled to make an impact from the left. Had a presentable chance following a pass by Bellingham but Strakosha made the save. Rashford produced a bigger effect when substituted. Five
