Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a message.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
